Zalando: how to add countries

This article describes how to add new countries (a.k.a. markets or sales channels) to your Zalando channel on ChannelEngine, so you can sell your products in more markets.
How to add countries to your Zalando channel
To add countries to your Zalando channel:
- Contact Zalando via zDirect to let them know you want to expand to new markets. For more information, refer to the Expanding into new markets on zDirect article.
- On the ChannelEngine dashboard, go to your Zalando channel, and on the Setup tab, in the Countries drop-down box select the countries that you want to add.
- On the Mappings page, on the Content mappings tab, map the following attribute:
- Description [country] - the product description for the specific Zalando country in the (main) language that the country uses. The preferred languages are English or German.

If you add a new country, additional offer mappings become available. On the Mappings page, click Offer mappings and map the following attributes:
- Export to [country] - specifies if the product should be sold in this country. You may be able to sell certain brands in some countries, but not in others. If you select No, the product is not shown in this country. If you just added a country, set this field to No to prevent incorrect pricing. E.g.: when you add Poland, you must create a new output price rule with a currency conversion, map the outcome to the Price attribute in PLN under the Offer mappings, and then export the product.
NB: if you add a country with a currency other than your default currency on ChannelEngine, make sure to create a new output price rule and map the output price field to the designated attribute. For more information on that, refer to the ChannelEngine: currency conversions article. - Fulfillment override [country] - select ZFS, Merchant, or Automatic, according to your preferred fulfillment method.
- Merchant stock [country] - this attribute is ignored if ZFS is chosen as the fulfillment method.
- Price [country] in [currency] - select the price field for this country. Note that you cannot use the same price field for for example euros and Swedish crowns. If you use the same price field for different currencies, Zalando rejects one of the prices as the currency difference is too high.
- Promo price [country] in [currency] - optionally, set the promotional price for this country.
- Export to [country] - specifies if the product should be sold in this country. You may be able to sell certain brands in some countries, but not in others. If you select No, the product is not shown in this country. If you just added a country, set this field to No to prevent incorrect pricing. E.g.: when you add Poland, you must create a new output price rule with a currency conversion, map the outcome to the Price attribute in PLN under the Offer mappings, and then export the product.
- Verify with Zalando if they are ready to receive price updates for the newly added countries. If so, set the value of the attribute Export to [country] to Yes.
NB: make sure to export your articles only to countries that have been added to your zDirect account, otherwise you may see errors when exporting stock and pricing information.
