To start selling on Fnac, you must create an account. If you plan to sell on multiple Fnac sites, you need a separate account for each site. E.g.: if you intend to sell on both Fnac France and Fnac Spain, you need an account for fnac.com and an account for fnac.es.
The following list describes the specifics for each country:
- Fnac France - Request a Fnac.com France account to start selling.
- Fnac Belgium - Request a Fnac Belgium account to start selling.
- Fnac Spain - fnac.es requires you to use an Excel file to create your products. ChannelEngine recommends you to contact your account manager for the country-specific process. Request a Fnac Spain account to start selling.
- Fnac Portugal - fnac.pt requires you to use Excel file to create your products. ChannelEngine recommends you to contact your account manager for the country-specific process. Request a Fnac Portugal account to start selling.
Associated costs
Creating an account is free, but there is a monthly fee of EUR 39.99 (excl VAT) if there are sales. Additionally, Fnac charges an extra commission for products sold. The commission percentage varies depending on the type of product between 6 and 16%.

- Showcase nr - the offer's position on your store's page within Darty. E.g.: to place an offer in the first position, map 1 to this attribute.
Discount-related attributes
To create discounts on Fnac, you need to map at least one of the mandatory discount-related attributes. If a value is assigned to a mandatory attribute, optional mappings are considered and included in the next offer export. However, if all three mandatory promotion-related attributes are left unmapped, all discount-related mappings are ignored and excluded from the offer export.
Required
- Promo type - the type of promotion, selected from a list of fixed values. E.g.: batch, destocking, flash sale, free shipping, good deal, sales, or use the default value.
- Promo start date - the start date for the promotion in the format yyyy-mm-dd H:mm:ss +zz:00, e.g.: 2023-01-01 8:00:00 +01:00 indicates 1 Jan 2023 at 8:00 AM, Central European Time (CET), in the winter. If the selected Promo type is sales, this date must fall within the allowed sales period.
- Promo end date - the end date for the promotion in the format yyyy-mm-dd H:mm:ss +zz:00, e.g.: 2023-01-01 8:00:00 +01:00 indicates 1 Jan 2023 at 8:00 AM, Central European Time (CET), in the winter. Similar to the start date, if the Promo type is sales, this date must be within the allowed sales period.
Optional
- Promo discount value - the amount of discount applicable during the promotion. If the Promo discount type is a fixed amount, enter a numeric value between 0.90 and 2000. In the case of a percentage-based discount, the numeric value should be between 1 and 100. This attribute is required in all cases, except when the Promo type is free shipping.
- Promo discount type - the type of discount, selected from a list of fixed values. E.g.: fixed amount, or percentage based.
- Promo user reference - the name or reference you or Fnac have given to the promotion. E.g.: summer sale.
- Promo sales reference - the sales reference of the promotion. If the Promo type is sales, the value must match the name or reference of the sale on Fnac.

- Promo trigger value - the trigger value or threshold of the promotion, used to determine what value triggers the promotion to apply. This attribute is required when the promo type is batch.
- Promo trigger code - if a discount is triggered by a voucher or promotional code, use this attribute to define the trigger code for the promotion.
- Promo trigger customer type - required for batch-type promotions, this attribute determines whether the promotion applies to all customers or only to Fnac/Darty member card holders.
In Mappings, Offer mappings, the following offer attribute may appear on this channel, if this channel uses pricing v2:
- Allow promotion below min price - set it to ‘true’ to allow the promotion price to drop below your product's minimum price.
In Mappings, Fee group mappings, map the marketplace fee group ID of the product.
Carrier
Carrier mapping is mandatory on Fnac. If your preferred carrier is not on their approved list, map it to Other to have your shipment information submitted correctly.
Pricing
If your default currency is not EUR, you can use a currency conversion to convert prices to EUR.
It is possible to use price rules for your products; repricing is not supported.
FAQs
Can I create a return for just one item if an order line contains multiple items?
Unfortunately, no. Fnac does not support merchant returns (i.e.: returns directly created on the merchant side) via their API; therefore, the only way to create a return or a refund is through the Fnac back-end.
Fnac does not support order line splitting, which means that you cannot create a return or refund for a single product if two products, for example, were shipped in total. If you encounter this scenario, a possible workaround is to manually refund the single item via PayPal or bank transfer.
I cannot create content for other Fnac countries. Why?
You may encounter the issue where your content mappings appear blank on ChannelEngine, as seen in the example below.
The possible explanation for this issue is that you are not a Fnac-qualified seller.
Fnac only supports content creation on its French and Belgian marketplaces. All other Fnac channels only allow an offer export connecting to existing content, and therefore, these channels do not have tabs for categorization or content mapping. Non-qualified sellers do not have access to many Fnac features, including the ability to create and update content. This prevents you from seeing any products in the Content mappings section of the Mappings page – even if you created a product selection and categorized your products.
You can enable the qualified seller option on ChannelEngine to align with your status on Fnac by going to the Setup page.
Why am I getting an authorization error when trying to activate the marketplace?
Make sure to enter the correct shop ID for the correct country. These are different for each individual Fnac country. You can also double-check if Fnac has created the required access for ChannelEngine, which can be seen in the credentials you received from Fnac and in the Nom du Partenaire section.
If you are sure that the credentials are correct, please contact Fnac as the authorization error comes directly from them.
I am migrating my Fnac connection from Vendiro to ChannelEngine. Is there anything I should keep in mind?
Yes. Before you can migrate your connection from Vendiro to ChannelEngine, you need to contact Fnac and ask them to allow ChannelEngine to use the same Store ID you used on Vendiro.
