How to create a test order
When integrating with ChannelEngine or adding a new channel on ChannelEngine, you may want to create a test order and check if the connection is working as intended.
To create a test order:
- From the left-hand side menu, go to Settings, Support.
- Go to Test order. Enter the required information and click Create test order. The only requirement is that you enter a valid product in the Order lines section. Otherwise, orders cannot be retrieved by your system (e.g.: OMS). All other sections are optional and, if left empty, are filled in with ChannelEngine's default dummy data. Keep in mind that:
- You cannot create a test order without a valid product. A test order must come from a channel that includes at least one valid product.
- If you cannot select a product, it may be a parent or grandparent product. Only standalone or child products can be included in a test order.
To view the created test order, follow the link on the pop-up to go to the Order details page.
ChannelEngine's test orders have a channel order number formatted as 'CE-TEST-XXXXX'. These orders can be shipped, canceled, and returned (if the channel allows) to test the order flow. However, they are not exported to channels.
How to create a marketplace-fulfilled test order
When you plan to work with marketplace fulfillment, such as FBA, LVB, or ZFS, you may want to create one or more marketplace-fulfilled test orders to check if the connection is working as intended.
To create a marketplace-fulfilled test order:
- Go to your ChannelEngine dashboard and add a channel that offers marketplace fulfillment. E.g.: Amazon, Cdiscount, bol, or Zalando.
- From the left-hand side menu, go to Settings, Support.
- In the Test order section, open the General section and select the channel you added to the dashboard. Toggle the slider to enable the fulfillment service (FBA, LVB, FBC, ZFS, or equivalent). Fill out the required information and enter at least one active product in the Order lines section. You can then enable the Is fulfillment by marketplace setting per product.
- Click Create test order. Any sections left empty are filled out with ChannelEngine's dummy data.
