Marketplace-specific requirements and exceptions
This section describes extra steps and deviations from the standard settings and configuration steps that are required to successfully configure the Miswag plugin on ChannelEngine.
Setup
On ChannelEngine
This channel must connect to your channel plugin on ChannelEngine to consume your product content and offers and to push orders to you. Therefore, you need to provide your contact person at this channel with the following information:
-
Your ChannelEngine base URL
https://[yourtenant].channelengine.net - The Channel API key
- Your channel-specific product feed URLs*
The Channel API is this channel's gateway to your products on ChannelEngine. To find your Channel API key:
- In your channel plugin on the ChannelEngine Dashboard, and go to Setup, General.
- Locate the API key field.
*To retrieve the channel-specific product feed URLs, check out the next section on creating your product selection.
Product selection
Product selection is straightforward on Miswag. Add the products you want to list in the Product selection step. See ChannelEngine: product selection.
This channel accesses your product data directly via the Channel API. Ignore the two URLs at the top of the page, as these product feed URLs (one in CSV and one in XML format) are not generated or used on this channel.
Categorization
Categorization on Miswag is straightforward, and all categories are listed in English. Miswag divides category trails into four levels. Levels 1 and 2 are not selectable, but they help you understand the trails. Map to the last child category only.
Mappings
Map as many attributes as possible. The more you map, the greater the product's visibility on the marketplace. This, in turn, tends to lead to a higher conversion rate.
Although all attributes are written in English, Miswag accepts content in both English and Arabic. The English product name is required; the Arabic name is optional and is used for the Arabic storefront.
Content
All products (required)
- Barcode - the unique identifier, such as an EAN or UPC, representing a specific product variation. To prevent issues with your offers, do not change this value after it is mapped. If you need to modify the mapping, contact ChannelEngine's Support team. E.g.: 6291041500213, 012345678905, 4006381333931.
- EN name - the product's title in English. The maximum number of characters is 255. The title should clearly identify the product, be searchable, and read well. E.g.: Classic White Cotton T-Shirt, Leather Bifold Wallet, Stainless Steel Water Bottle.
- Price - the selling price displayed to the customer at checkout, in IQD. E.g.: 40,000. Use a comma ( , ) as a thousand separator and a period ( . ) as a decimal separator.
All products (optional)
- AR name - the title in Arabic. The maximum number of characters is 255. Used for Arabic storefront display and localization.
- Care - free-text care and handling instructions for the product. E.g.: Machine wash cold, Wipe with a damp cloth, Dry clean only.
- Color (Hex) - the hex color code rendered as the color swatch on the product page. E.g.: #000000, #FFFFF0, #001F5B, #6B7C45.
- Color name - the human-readable color name for the variation, displayed for customer selection. E.g.: Midnight Black, Ivory White, Navy Blue, Olive Green.
- Cost - the internal cost price. ChannelEngine uses it for margin and profitability calculations. Miswag does not store the seller-supplied cost. Instead, it derives its own internal cost from the selling price and the commission rate. If Cost is not mapped, the following ChannelEngine-side fallbacks apply: dynamic-commission sellers use the Min price attribute as cost, and fixed-commission sellers use 0.
- Disclaimer - important notices, warnings, or legal statements about the product. E.g.: Keep away from children under 3.
- Height / Length / Width - the package dimensions in cm. Used to calculate volumetric shipping weight. Only provide the value without the unit of measurement. E.g.: 30.
- Highlights - a short description of the product. E.g.: Made from 98% cotton and 2% LYC. Ideal seasonal thickness. Comfortable and stylish for children.
- Ideal for - target audience or intended use. E.g.: Men, Women, Unisex, Kids, Outdoor use, Office wear.
- Keywords - keywords that help buyers find the product in search. E.g.: playstation, play, station, console, gaming.
- Material - the material or materials the product is made of. E.g.: 100% Cotton, Full-grain leather, Stainless steel 18/8.
- Merchant code - the variation (color)-level unique code. It identifies a specific color or style combination regardless of size. E.g.: TSHRT-WHT-001, WLT-BRN-LTH, BTL-BLK-500ML.
- Occasion - the event or context the product is appropriate for. Useful for gifting and seasonal filtering. E.g.: Casual, Wedding, Ramadan, Eid, Gym and Sports, Office, Travel.
- SKU - the top-level identifier that groups all variations and sizes of the same product. E.g.: TSHRT-001, WLT-001, BTL-001.
- Weight - the physical weight of the packaged item, in grams. Used alongside the dimensions to determine the billable shipping weight. E.g.: 250.
Offer
All products (optional)
- Allow promotion below min price - set it to ‘true’ to allow the promotion price to drop below your product's minimum price.
Shipments
Carrier mapping is not available on Miswag. Also, providing tracking codes or return tracking codes is not required.
Different shipment models apply depending on whether you ship from Iraq or outside of it:
- If you have a warehouse in Iraq, you deliver locally to the buyer.
- If you are a seller shipping from a different country (e.g.: India, Turkey), you must ship to the local Miswag warehouse in that country, via first-mile delivery. Miswag is then responsible for the delivery of the package directly to the buyer. Attach a shipping label to every package shipped to the Miswag warehouse. You can find the shipping label URL in the order extra, in the
ShippingLabelUrlfield.
Pricing
If your tenant uses pricing v2, the channel's price attributes are located in the Pricing step, under Price rules and Promotions. To map your price attributes and apply any permanent adjustments to mapped values, go to the Price rules tab. See ChannelEngine: price rules v2.
All products (required)
Selling price - the selling price for the product, in IQD. Use a comma ( , ) as a thousand separator and a period ( . ) as a decimal separator. This is the only offer attribute Miswag consumes. It drives both the storefront price and the Miswag-derived cost: price × (100 − commission) ÷ 100.
All products (optional)
The attributes below are informational only. Miswag does not currently use them.
Fulfillment by seller price - the price for the product when you fulfill the order.
Miswag's order collection - Free zone price - the same as Fulfillment by seller price, except that Miswag collects the order from the seller's warehouse.
Working with discounts
To send a time-bound discount to the channel, go to Pricing, Promotions. See ChannelEngine: promotions.
Listed products
The Listed products page does not display the up-to-date product status or applicable errors.
The only status you see on ChannelEngine is Published — and that only confirms the product was successfully exported to the channel, not that it is live, active, or approved on the target channel.
Check with the channel or partner directly to confirm the product's actual publication status.
FAQs
How often does each task run on Miswag?
| Task | Frequency |
|---|---|
| Export product data to channel | every 60 minutes |
| Export product offers to channel | every 15 minutes |
| Import orders from channel | every 5 minutes |
| Export order shipments to channel | every 5 minutes |
| Import cancelations from channel | every 30 minutes |
How are products deleted from Miswag?
To delete a product from Miswag, ChannelEngine exports it with the stock set to 0. Once Miswag processes the export, the product is unpublished from the storefront. Setting the price to 0 alone does not unpublish a product; only stock=0 does.
Why are my shipments stuck as 'Not exported yet'?
Miswag uses ChannelEngine's Channel API, so ChannelEngine does not initiate the import and export of data to and from the marketplace. If your shipments are not exported and not visible on Miswag's platform, something is incorrect with the import of the shipment information. Please contact Miswag's customer service to investigate this. You can copy ChannelEngine's Support team in the email, if needed.
