Introduction
Error 8560 is related to issues with your product ID, which is pushed to Amazon along with stock and price as part of the offer export. It can occur for several distinct reasons, including invalid product ID values, missing required attributes, incorrect categorization, or a product ID that does not match any existing ASIN and cannot be used to create a new one.
Cause
The three main causes of error 8560 are described in the resolution steps below. Regardless of which resolution path you follow, make sure that Export content is enabled in Mappings, Content mappings.
Resolution
Invalid values
If the product ID value itself is incorrect or malformed, follow these steps:
- Verify that the product ID is correct and free of typos. Optionally, verify the product ID directly in the inventory template.
- Check the character requirements: UPCs require 12 digits, EANs require 13 digits, and ISBNs require 10 digits.
- Validate your product ID using the authorized GS1 website.
- If you have applied for UPC exemption, ensure that the same brand name is used for the specific feed product type for which the exemption was granted.
- Update your data and resubmit.
Missing required attributes
If required fields have not been completed, follow these steps:
- Verify that all required attributes are mapped in Mappings.
- Verify that required fields are mapped within each category.
- Verify that the
feed_product_typefield is correct and corresponds to the brand name for which any UPC exemption has been granted. - If your products have UPCs, EANs, or ISBNs, fill in both the external product ID and external product ID type fields. If you have UPC exemption approval, leave these fields empty.
- If your products do not have UPCs or barcodes, apply for GTIN exemption via Amazon Seller Central. Wait 2-3 hours after receiving approval before submitting listings.
- Update your data and resubmit.
The product ID does not match any ASIN
If the product ID is structurally valid but does not correspond to any existing ASIN, follow these steps:
- Verify that the product ID is correct and meets the character requirements for its type.
- Check conformity with industry standards using an online UPC or EAN validation tool.
- If the product ID is incorrect, update it and resubmit.
- If the product ID is new to the Amazon catalog, a new ASIN must be created. Ensure the product is categorized correctly in the Categorization step on ChannelEngine and that all required content attributes are mapped.
