Introduction
Setting up content mappings for a new channel can take time. To speed up the mapping process, use the copy mappings from another channel feature on TikTok Shop, so you do not have to start from scratch. This feature is useful if you manage the same catalog across multiple TikTok Shop country channels.
Limitations
Before copying mappings, check these limitations:
- The source and target channels must contain the same categories.
- The source and target channels must contain the same attributes to copy.
- Only Content mappings are copied; Offer mappings are not copied.
Copy mappings from another channel
- Go to the Mappings step for the TikTok Shop channel you want to copy mappings to.
-
Open the Content mappings tab.
Copy mappings from another channel button - Click Copy mappings from another channel.
- Select the channel you want to copy mappings from.
- Click Copy mappings.
- Click Yes to confirm and proceed to copying.
The copy process runs as a background task. When it is complete, ChannelEngine sends a report to your email.
What gets copied
When you copy content mappings from one TikTok Shop channel to another, the following is copied from a source to target channel:
- New content mappings (including rule sets with rules).
- New product override values highlighted in yellow in the user interface.
- For attributes with options (e.g.: multi-select attributes), only the options that exist in both the source and target countries.
What does not get copied
When you copy content mappings from one TikTok Shop channel to another, the following is not copied from a source to target channel:
- Attributes that already have a mapping. Existing mappings are never overwritten, so you can safely run the process multiple times after mapping a new attribute.
- Existing per-product overrides highlighted in yellow in the user interface.
- For attributes with options (e.g.: multi-select attributes), options that do not have a match in the target country.
Report
Any mappings that could not be copied are listed in the report that is sent to you via email.
