'Failed stock update' notifications
Introduction
Shopify provides various features to support inventory management, but it does not automatically adjust stock levels based on orders by default. However, ChannelEngine does offer the option to automatically update stock levels when fetching a shipment from Shopify. This setting only subtracts stock when the items in an imported order are marked as shipped.
Enable stock management
To enable the stock management feature, go to the Setup page of your Shopify plugin in ChannelEngine.
Click Advanced Settings to find the Enable automatic stock updates setting, and click the toggle to enable it.
'Failed stock update' notifications
You can enable a notification to inform you whenever stock for shipped products has not been automatically adjusted. For example, if IDs are missing this can result in stock information not being properly fetched. We recommend that you enable the Failed stock update notification so that you can manually adjust stock levels in your inventory if necessary.
This notification is disabled by default. To enable it, go to the Settings page from your user menu and locate it under Stock message settings.
You can find more information about configuring notifications in this article: ChannelEngine: how to configure notifications.
This notification will contain both the Shopify product ID and a link to the product in ChannelEngine in the title of the message.
