About this article
This article describes how to copy categories and content mappings from one Mirakl channel to another.

Copy mappings from another channel
- Stage 1: copy categories in the Categorization step
- Stage 2: copy content mappings in the Content mappings tab
Introduction
Setting up categorization and content mappings for a new channel can take time. To speed up the process, use the copy mappings from another channel feature on Mirakl channels so that you do not have to start from scratch. This feature is useful if you manage the same product catalog across the same Mirakl channel but in different countries.
Limitations
Before copying mappings, check these limitations:
- The source and target channels must contain the same categories. In practice, this can mean they share the same product catalog.
- Attributes do not have to fully match between channels. If an attribute exists in the target channel, its mapped value is copied over. If the target channel contains attributes that are not in the source channel, those attributes remain empty after copying.
- Only content mappings are copied. Offer mappings are not copied.
Copy mappings from another channel
The process has two stages: you copy the categories first in the Categorization step, then copy the content mappings from the Content mappings tab.
Stage 1: copy categories in the Categorization step
- Go to the Categorization step for the Mirakl channel you want to copy mappings to (your target channel).
- Click Copy mappings from another channel and select the source channel.
- Click Save. ChannelEngine copies the categories from the source channel to the target channel.
Stage 2: copy content mappings in the Content mappings tab
- Click Mappings in the channel navigation, then refresh the page.
- Click the Content mappings tab, which brings you to the top-level overview of the Content mappings step.
- Click Copy mappings from another channel.
- In the popup, confirm whether you want to receive a confirmation email when the copy task is complete.
- Click Yes to proceed.
The copy process runs as a background task. When it is complete, ChannelEngine sends a report to your email. After the task is finished, refresh the Content mappings tab of the target channel to verify the copied values.
What gets copied
When you copy mappings from one Mirakl channel to another, the following is copied from the source to the target channel:
- New content mappings, including rule sets with rules.
- New product override values highlighted in yellow in the user interface.
- Mapped values for attributes that exist in both the source and target channels.
What does not get copied
When you copy mappings from one Mirakl channel to another, the following is not copied from the source to the target channel:
- Attributes that already have a mapping in the target channel. Existing mappings are never overwritten, so you can safely run the process multiple times after mapping a new attribute.
- Existing per-product overrides in the target channel (highlighted in yellow in the user interface).
- Offer mappings.
- Attribute values from the source channel for attributes that do not exist in the target channel. These are listed in the report email.
Report
When the copy task is complete, ChannelEngine sends a summary email. The report covers three categories:
- Attribute values that were copied - a count of mappings and per-product override values successfully copied to the target channel.
- Attributes not found in the target channel - source channel attributes that do not exist in the target channel and whose values were therefore not copied.
- Attributes that already have a mapping - target channel attributes that already had a mapped value and were not overwritten.
Below is an example of a copy report email:
Copy product data mappings report for XXXLutz DE to XXXLutz AT Started at: 2026-07-30 12:25:58 Copied mappings: 13 of 13 Copied per product override values: 2 of 2 These attributes (2) in XXXLutz DE were not found in XXXLutz AT: - Description [de] [de] - Name [de] [de]
For any attributes listed as not found or already mapped, review the target channel's Content mappings tab and update those attributes manually if needed.
