ChannelEngine: revenue targets
This article describes how to capture your revenue targets per marketplace on ChannelEngine.
Table of contents
Introduction
You can set monthly revenue targets and track your financial progress by comparing the actual gross merchandise value (GMV) to your targets.
You can capture two targets per month – including VAT and excluding VAT. You can set targets for a specific marketplace or globally, at the tenant level.
Prerequisites
To compare your set revenue targets to the actual revenue, you need to use ChannelEngine's insights feature. Insights is available as an optional add-on to your existing package. To enable this feature, contact your customer success manager at ChannelEngine or the Support team.
Set targets
You can define your monthly revenue targets via ChannelEngine's web interface and via the Merchant API. To learn more about setting up targets via the Merchant API, check out the article Merchant API: main resources.
- From the left-hand side menu, go to Settings, Settings, Targets.
- Select whether to set a target for a specific marketplace or across all marketplaces (Global targets).
- Select a year to set a target for.
- Enter your target amount for each month. Ensure you enter the amount in the correct column, depending on whether it includes or excludes the sales tax/VAT.
- ChannelEngine automatically calculates the total target value for the selected year.
- Click Save.
Compare revenue to targets
Once you set your revenue targets, you can compare your actual GMV to your targets. To do this, go to Insights on ChannelEngine.
The reports that show the comparison are located on the following tabs: Summary and Order.
Use smart filters at the top of the page to narrow the results and filter by a specific channel, product category, or brand. E.g.: use the VAT/tax toggle to select whether GMV should include or exclude the sales tax.
You can hover over a specific period in the chart to see exact figures related to your GMV and your target.
