ChannelEngine: how to configure a timezone
About this article
This article describes timezones on ChannelEngine, how to configure them, and how to use them.
Introduction
ChannelEngine's web interface allows you to set your timezone, and choose between 12-hour and 24-hour time formats. Once configured, ChannelEngine accurately timestamps orders, shipments, and returns – and presents your statistics based on your local time.
Setup
To set your timezone:
- Click your username in the top right corner of the ChannelEngine interface.
- Go to Account settings, My profile.
- Choose your timezone from the dropdown menu. Each timezone is listed with its offset from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), region, and major cities. E.g.: - 3.00 Suriname Time - Paramaribo, Lelydorp. Alternatively, select Detect to have ChannelEngine automatically identify and set your timezone.
- Choose the preferred time format. If no option is selected, ChannelEngine defaults to Auto.
- Auto - time based on your selected language. E.g.: 12-hour format for English.
- 24-hour clock - time based on the 24-hour format, which runs from 00:00 (midnight) to 23:59. The structure is hh:mm. E.g.: 14:30.
- 12-hour clock (AM/PM) - time based on the 12-hour format, which runs from 1 AM till noon and then from 1 PM till midnight. The structure is hh:mm AM/PM. E.g.: 7:30 AM.
- Click Update to save your changes.
Timestamps
After you configure the timezone and time display settings, you can see the appropriate timestamps on the overview pages related to orders, shipments, cancelations, and returns. Hover your cursor over the timestamp to see more details.
- Your time - the time according to your selected timezone, or your browser's timezone.
- Original time - the time according to the timezone of ChannelEngine's server, which is GMT+2.00. Alternatively, it can be the timezone communicated by the marketplace.
