Introduction

ChannelEngine allows you to participate in bol's channel-led promotional campaigns, which are sales campaigns and price reductions such as Black Friday and Sinterklaas (St. Nicholas Eve). Promoted products are highlighted on bol's frontend listings.

This article covers bol's channel campaigns specifically. It does not cover merchant promotions, which are time-bound promotions you create yourself on ChannelEngine and which are available across channels generally.

Requirements

To use bol's promotions feature on ChannelEngine, contact your customer success manager at ChannelEngine to determine together if you meet the following requirements:

• You have an active bol channel on ChannelEngine with pricing v2 activated on the channel.
• ChannelEngine must enable the bol promotions import setting for the channel. Support can activate this for you.
• You must have an evaluation rating of six or higher on bol.
• You must price below bol's maximum promotion price and hold the buy box (koopblok on bol). bol's buy box logic still applies, so eligibility is not guaranteed even when your price is below the maximum.

Notes to sellers

If you are eligible to participate in a bol promotion, keep the following notes in mind:

• bol can reduce its fee on promoted products.
• You cannot set start and end dates on bol promotions on ChannelEngine.
• bol controls the campaigns, not ChannelEngine.

Participate in bol promotions

ChannelEngine imports bol's promotions once every night. During the import, ChannelEngine matches your listed products with the products in the promotions.

You can view imported promotions at Pricing, Promotions. Here, you find ongoing, expired, and upcoming promotions. Click the pencil icon on a line item to see which of your products are eligible for the promotion.

To join a channel-led bol promotion:

1. In Promotions, enable Channel promotions in the filter bar.
2. Click the edit icon to edit the channel promotion. If your price is below the maximum promotion price and you have the buy box, you are automatically enrolled in the promotion. If not, set a price below the maximum promotion price to join the promotion in Step 3.

1. In Set price, next to the products to be included in the promotion, enter your desired promotion price. The price you set is exported during the period of the promotional campaign.
2. Keep in mind that bol defines the Max. promotion price, or the maximum allowed campaign price, which you cannot exceed.
3. Click Save.

Once the channel promotion is set, your products on bol may be displayed with a Nu in prijs verlaagd (Price reduced now) label. Check bol's documentation to determine when and how this label appears. Ultimately, bol decides if you participate in the promotion, and simply winning the buy box may not be enough.

Export and import promotions via CSV

You can also manage your bol promotions via a CSV file, which you can export from or import to ChannelEngine.

To manage promotions via a CSV file:

1. In Pricing, Promotions, click the download icon to create a file with your current promotions. Click Ok in the pop-up to confirm that you want to export all of your channel promotions to a downloaded file. A CSV file is downloaded.
2. To import an existing CSV file, click the upload button. Use this CSV template to create your own CSV file of channel promotions.

FAQ

Are price and/or reprice rules still active on promotion products?
A promotion price overrides price rules and repricing, but a manual price override takes precedence.

Can I assign the same product to more than one active promotion?
You can't assign a product to promotions with overlapping dates. If you attempt this, only the last promotion period is taken into account.

Why can't I see the promotion price on bol's back-end platform?
The promotion price is set as your regularly exported price. It is not visible on promotion management pages on bol's platform as the promotie prijs (promotion price) only as the huidige prijs (current price) if the promotion is active.

What happens if my promotion price is below the minimum price?
ChannelEngine exports the minimum price instead of the promotion price, unless Allow promotion below min. price is enabled in Offer mappings.
