bol: why can't I add the image type?

This article explains why bol's image types cannot be defined via ChannelEngine.

Solution

Although bol offers the option in their back-end to define which 'type' a specific product image is (e.g.: view from the side, view from above, schematic, main image, etc.), which varies per product category, these image types are neither available through the API nor in the data model of bol that ChannelEngine downloads and processes every week.

Therefore, these types can only be set or changed via bol's back-end.

Note that excluding these fields from the content export does not prevent the related products from being published – and it also does not block other product updates.
