bol: stock reservation

This article describes bol's stock reservation feature.

Introduction

By default, ChannelEngine reserves stock for orders that are still open (i.e.: not shipped yet or canceled on the channel-side). However, there are channels that also allow for stock reservation. Most of them have this disabled by default, however, bol reserves stock by default.

If you have a stock of two for a product, and an order is placed on bol with the quantity of one, the result is a double stock reservation.

Disabling bol's stock reservation

As this double stock reservation can be undesirable in some scenarios (especially if you as a merchant are also doing stock reservations), with bol's V3 API it is possible to disable the stock reservation feature.
