bol: stock reservation
About this article
This article describes bol's stock reservation feature.
Table of contents
Introduction
By default, ChannelEngine reserves stock for orders that are still open (i.e.: not shipped yet or canceled on the channel-side). However, some channels also reserve your stock for new orders. Most channels disable their native stock reservation feature by default; however, bol's stock reservation feature is enabled by default.
Double reservations
If you have a stock quantity of two for a given product, and an order is placed on bol with the quantity one, the result is a double stock reservation.
| Location | Stock quantity |
| Merchant | 2 |
| ChannelEngine | 1 |
| bol | 0 |
Prevent double reservations
Because double reservations can be undesirable in some fulfillment scenarios, it is possible to disable the stock reservation feature either on ChannelEngine or on bol.
Disable stock reservations on ChannelEngine
Turning off ChannelEngine's stock reservation feature disables stock reservations on all of your channels.
To disable ChannelEngine's stock reservation feature:
- Go to Settings, Stock from the sidebar menu.
- In the Calculate stock reservation setting, select None: don't calculate stock reservations.
Disable stock reservations on bol
If you only want to prevent double reservations on bol, contact your customer success manager or the Support team to assist you in disabling bol's stock reservation feature.
