Adobe Commerce 3.0: return tracking code
About this article
This article describes how you can configure return tracking codes on Adobe Commerce 3.0.
Table of contents
Introduction
Some marketplaces, such as Zalando, OTTO Market, and About You, require a return tracking code with a shipment. Since Adobe Commerce does not support return tracking codes as a standard field, we recommend using the additional tracking number to include this information.
Setup
On ChannelEngine
To enable the return tracking code synchronization:
- Go to the Setup page of your Adobe Commerce 3.0 plugin.
- Under Advanced settings, enable the Check for return tracking code setting.
- Once enabled, the Return T&T number custom title setting appears below. Enter a title for the field used to store the return tracking code on Adobe Commerce. The requirements are:
- Must be 3 to 64 characters long.
- Can only contain alphanumeric characters, hyphens (-), or underscores (_).
- Once saved, the name cannot be changed. Ensure accuracy before proceeding.
-
Click Save.
On Adobe Commerce
After the Check for return tracking code setting is enabled, you can add a return tracking code to your shipments on Adobe Commerce.
- In your Adobe Commerce back-end, go to Sales, Orders.
- Locate the desired order and click View in the Action column.
- Click Ship.
- Click Add tracking number.
- Add an extra tracking number to the shipment.
How it works
Once you finalize the setup and enable the required settings, ChannelEngine does the following:
- If an order originates from a marketplace requiring a return tracking code (e.g.: Zalando), ChannelEngine checks if a return tracking code exists.
- If it is available, ChannelEngine includes the code in the shipment and exports it to the marketplace.
- If the return tracking code is missing, the shipment is not exported.
