Exporting shipments to ChannelEngine
Introduction
Some marketplaces, such as Zalando, OTTO Market, and About You, require a return tracking code with shipments. Since Adobe Commerce does not support return tracking codes as a standard field, use an additional tracking number field to include this information.
Setup
On ChannelEngine
To enable synchronizing a return tracking code with your shipments:
- Go to the Setup step of your Adobe Commerce 3.0 plugin.
- Under Advanced settings, enable the Enable check for return tracking code setting.
- Once enabled, the Return T&T number custom title setting appears below. Enter a title for the field used to store the return tracking code on Adobe Commerce. The requirements are:
- Must be 3 to 64 characters long.
- Can only contain alphanumeric characters, hyphens (-), or underscores (_).
- Once saved, the name cannot be changed. Ensure accuracy before proceeding.
- Click Save.
On Adobe Commerce
After the Enable check for return tracking code setting is enabled, configure the return tracking code field on your shipments on Adobe Commerce.
- In your Adobe Commerce backend, go to Sales, Orders.
- Locate the desired order and click View in the Action column.
- Click Ship.
- Click Add tracking number.
- Add an extra tracking number to the shipment.
Exporting shipments to ChannelEngine
Once you finalize the setup and enable the required settings:
- ChannelEngine checks if a return tracking code exists on your shipment.
- If the return tracking code is available, ChannelEngine includes the code in the shipment and attempts to export it to the marketplace.
Make sure you follow the respective marketplace's return tracking code requirements to ensure that the marketplace accepts the shipment. If the marketplace requires a return tracking code for the type of carrier that you use, then provide one as soon as you create your shipment on Adobe Commerce.
