Requirements
To use ChannelEngine's Picqer merchant plugin, you need an active account with Picqer.
How to request an account
To sign up for an account with Picqer, go to their website and fill out the form.
Setup
On Picqer
- Log in to your Picqer fulfilment portal.
- Go to Settings, API keys.
- Create a new API key. Enter a name for your key, e.g.: ChannelEngine-[your-shop-name], and click Add API key.
- Copy the API key and its name. Save them securely, as the API key is only displayed once and cannot be retrieved later.
On ChannelEngine
- On ChannelEngine, in the left menu, click Plugins.
- On the Plugins page, find Picqer and click Add.
- On the Setup page, under the Connection settings section, enter the following:
- API domain - your API base URL on Picqer. E.g.: https://example.picqer.com.
- API username - your API key name on Picqer.
- API key - your API key on Picqer.
- Under the Plugin-specific settings section, enter the following:
- Stock warehouses - the comma-separated list of warehouse IDs to import stock from. E.g.: 12, 15, 19. If you want ChannelEngine to import the sum stock of all warehouses, leave this empty. The ID of the warehouse is the part of the URL after the last slash (/). E.g.: https://example.picqer.com/warehouses/1234.
- VAT settings - the VAT rate per country using the format [ISO country code]_[ VAT rate]=[VAT code]. The VAT codes can be found on Picqer under Settings, VAT groups. To separate multiple VAT rates, use a pipe (|) symbol. E.g.: NL_21.00=8573|NL_9.00=8795. Note that Picqer requires all products to be linked to the VAT group. To ensure this linkage, configure the VAT settings on ChannelEngine.
- Shipping product ID - the unique identifier of the product used to calculate shipping costs. Since Picqer does not directly support shipping costs, you can create a placeholder product with unlimited stock, and set its price as the shipping cost. Provide the ID of this product to have it imported into ChannelEngine. The ID of the product is the part of the URL after the last slash (/). E.g.: https://example.picqer.com/products/1234.
- Tag for [marketplace] - the unique identifier of the tag used for a specific marketplace. You can use tags on Picqer for reporting, filtering, and automation. For example, you can create a tag to handle marketplaces differently. The ID of the tag can be found on Picqer under Settings, Tags, and it is the part of the URL after the last slash (/). E.g.: https://example.picqer.com/config/tags/5678.
- Under the Advanced settings section, configure the following settings:
- Product synchronization - enable product synchronization between Picqer and ChannelEngine.
- Import product data on product import - enable the import of product content and offers into ChannelEngine, excluding stock information.
- Update stock on product import - enable the import of product stock into ChannelEngine, excluding product content and offers.
How it works
Once Picqer is connected with your ChannelEngine tenant, ChannelEngine starts importing your product data (content and offers), and stock from Picqer and exporting orders to Picqer. Shipments are synchronized between the two platforms as well.
FAQs
How does ChannelEngine handle stock imports?
ChannelEngine imports only available product stock, which is the existing stock minus any reserved stock.
Which currency is used for export of orders to Picqer?
Since Picqer does not support multiple currencies, ChanelEngine exports the orders in the currency configured for your tenant. Therefore, ensure that the currency on Picqer corresponds to the one on ChannelEngine.
Why do I get the error 'Missing VAT setting for VAT rate [number] and country [country ISO code]'?
This error indicates that the VAT rate specified on the Setup page has not been configured on ChannelEngine. Note that you need to configure your VAT rates on ChannelEngine. Check out the article ChannelEngine: VAT settings to learn more.
Why do I get the error 'Order has shipping costs, but shipping product ID is not configured]'?
This error indicates that the order includes the shipping costs, but these costs cannot be exported to Picqer because the Shipping product ID has not been specified on the Setup page of ChannelEngine.
Why do I get the error 'Could not retrieve Picqer product ID for MPN [Merchant product number]'?
This error indicates that ChannelEngine exports the order that references a product not found on Picqer. Therefore, such an order cannot be exported to Picqer.
