Amazon: MWS reauthorization

This article describes the process required to renew Amazon's marketplace web services (MWS) token.
NB: this process only applies to the Amazon v2 channel. The v3-based channel uses a different form of authorization.

Introduction
For ChannelEngine to communicate with your Amazon account, Amazon must authorize ChannelEngine. This authorization is done via an MWS token, which is valid for 12 months. After these 12 months, you need to renew the token. Amazon sends you a weekly notification via email and the Seller Central notification center one month before the token expires.
Depending on the countries where you have Amazon enabled, the subject of this email could be:

Hello, Please read the following email carefully. You are receiving this because you are a registered user of Amazon Marketplace Web Service (Amazon MWS) and have Amazon MWS Access Keys. This message is to inform you that we will deactivate your MWS Access Keys in 30 days due to inactivity, as you have not made an API call to Amazon MWS in the last 60 days. This is in accordance with the MWS Acceptable Use Policy: "Do not apply for keys that you will not use. Amazon will baseline access keys every 90 days. Keys that do not make a successful call in 90 days will be deleted and the Developer will need to re-apply for keys." For your reference, the Developer ID associated to this notice is: 953818125270 If you would like your MWS Access Keys to remain active, please make an API call to Amazon MWS within the next 30 days. NB: if the token is not renewed on time, ChannelEngine loses access to the Amazon API. In this case, ChannelEngine is forced to deactivate the channel. Provided that you have enabled the required notifications within ChannelEngine, the deactivation is communicated to you accordingly.
How to renew the MWS token
To renew the token, take the following steps:
- Go to Settings at the top right of the Amazon Seller Central page and select User permissions.
- Under Third party developer and apps, select Visit manage your apps.
- Select Renew under the same row where ChannelEngine is listed. If prompted, re-enter the Developer ID (6395-8456-3595).
- Log into ChannelEngine and go to your Amazon channel. Click the Activation tab and reactivate the channel.
