Cdiscount: frais de traitement and INTERETBCA

This article describes Cdiscount's frais de traitement and INTERETBCA, why ChannelEngine displays them, how these order lines should be processed, and more.

Frais de traitement (processing fee) and INTERETBCA are transaction costs added to the total of your order. These costs are only applied when a payment method is used on Cdiscount with additional transaction costs, like payments in several installments or by credit card. Therefore, these payment methods must be activated in the Cdiscount back-end before you can see frais de traitement and INTERETBCA on ChannelEngine.

Both frais de traitement and INTERETBCA are shown on ChannelEngine as order lines. As these order lines can appear sporadically on orders, it is important to prepare your system to process them.

NB: frais de traitement and INTERETBCA represent extra income you receive as part of the order total. If ChannelEngine excluded those order lines, the order total displayed on ChannelEngine would differ from the actual total – and your financial administration would not be able to reconcile the order total in your store and the actual income amount transferred from Cdiscount.

Process frais de traitement and INTERETBCA order lines

To process those order lines correctly, both ChannelEngine and your own system need to recognize frais de traitement and INTERETBCA. That means you must create two non-saleable products on your webshop platform or ERP, one for each fee, which then are exported to ChannelEngine.

Note that Cdiscount submits these order lines by default with the SKU INTERETBCA or FRAISTRAITEMENT. To use a different SKU or label to collect the 'sales' on these order lines, do the following:

  1. Log in to ChannelEngine.
  2. Go to your Cdiscount channel.
  3. Go to the Setup page and enter the desired value in the FRAISTRAITEMENT SKU and INTERETBCA SKU fields, under the Advanced settings section.
  4. Once that is done, ChannelEngine makes the conversion automatically.

No matter the label you enter, it must match an active merchant product number in your order management system. Otherwise there may be issues when accepting the order.

Ship frais de traitement order lines

The specific order line for this type is automatically set to shipped, as you cannot ship a virtual product on Adobe Commerce (née Magento), for instance – and most warehouse management systems are also unable to ship something that is not physically available. However, this does not exempt you from the obligation to create a shipment with all the other order lines. Otherwise, the order is not set to Shipped and the shipment is not submitted to Cdiscount.
