Shopify: how to add tags to orders
This article describes how to automatically tag orders on Shopify with the name of the marketplace they originated from.
Introduction
When orders are tagged and exported from ChannelEngine to Shopify, you can:
- Easily see the name of the marketplace where each order originated from.
- Group orders from the same marketplace for financial auditing.
Limitations
You can use the process of adding tags described in this article for marketplaces that do not support sales channels, i.e.: do not allow listing and selling products across multiple countries from the same connection. E.g.: Amazon, bol, Kaufland.
Add a tag
- On Shopify, go to Apps, Flow.
- Open the Flow app and click Create workflow.
- Click Select a trigger and choose Order created. This starts the workflow each time a new order is created on Shopify.
- Click Then and set up the following condition:
- To set up the result of the condition, click Then, Action.
- Click Add order tags. In the Tags field, enter the tag name that identifies the marketplace, e.g., bol NL, to tag orders originating from this marketplace with this name on Shopify.
- View the flow to check for accuracy and set the flow to Active.
Once the flow is active, new orders created by ChannelEngine on Shopify are automatically tagged with the corresponding marketplace name.
If you need to set up multiple tags because your orders can originate from more than one marketplace, repeat the steps above. To speed up this process, you can duplicate the existing flow, but remember to change the name of the channel as well as the name of the tag.
