General questions
Why are my products not listed?
The process of setting different shipment methods and costs on ChannelEngine is often overlooked. However, this process is important because if the shipment costs configured do not match the shipment settings enabled for a product, there is no active offer for the product on Cdiscount.
To configure shipping methods, go to Octopia's backend and click Settings, Your delivery zones and modes. To set this up the same way on ChannelEngine, go to your Octopia marketplace and click Mappings, Offer mappings.
Why are my deleted products still visible on Cdiscount?
There is no option to completely delete a product from Octopia's backend via their API when the product is no longer active or in compliance with your product selection.
Even if you 'delete' products from ChannelEngine, they remain visible on Octopia's backend with a stock of zero. If you want products to be completely removed (e.g.: for overview purposes), delete them directly on Octopia's backend.
Sales and pricing
How can I create comparison/strikethrough prices on Cdiscount?
According to the EU Omnibus Directive, any comparison/strikethrough price must reflect a genuinely higher price that has been offered within the past 30 days. Therefore, if the product's price is currently lower than it has been in the past 30 days, Cdiscount shows the higher price with a strikethrough – and highlights the current price.
To set up a strikethrough price on Cdiscount, the following conditions must be met:
- The Striked price attribute is set to the product's recommended retail price. It must reflect the price offered during the past 30 days.
- The Price attribute is set to a value lower than the Striked price attribute. It must show a discounted price.
- Both values must be provided at least five hours before the strikethrough price is expected to appear.
- Do not set up strikethrough prices during official sale periods in France. Instead, create a time-limited sale.
Each Octopia sales channel determines how to calculate and display strikethrough prices – either based on your input or according to its own rules. Therefore, your submitted prices are treated as suggestions.
How can I create a sale on Cdiscount?
To create a sale on Octopia, the following conditions must be met:
- The Sale type attribute is set to 'Discount %'.
- A discount percentage is mapped to the Discount % (from reference price) attribute, without indicating the percentage symbol. E.g.: 20.
- The reference price is mapped to the Sale reference price attribute. Decimals are supported, as long as a dot (.) is used.
- The desired start and end dates are mapped to the Sale start date and Sale end date attributes. Note that the format is YYYY-MM-DDT00:00. E.g.: 2023-12-31T23:59. It is recommended that you set up a sale at least 48 hours in advance to avoid any delays.
